Haven't been updating my blog. Went to SPSSC Freshmen Orientation camp 0809 3rd April - 6th April '08 Had 2 days OFF from work. =) All i can say is, although the planning and communication wise wasnt good within the committee members, it still turn out rather well for the day. Activities wise wasn't as good compared to last year. This year, the games and activities i find it rather general and normal. It's like any other camp also have. Not much creativity etc. But i must say, this year GLs and CAMPERS really very HIGH! The turnup of the campers was like 120+. All very bonded etc. Senior also came down to support and help or give advise etc. It is also the most no of senior ever came down for the sports club camp. Throughout the camp, there have been ups and down for the planning comm and senior. Sometimes they may find us irritating as to keep nagging at them to do this or ask them that. But we really hope that you guys understand that we are people with experience running a camp, and that we are nagging at you people to get things done and to get the camp going with little problems and 0f course to let the campers enjoy the camp with us. There's still many things that you still have to learn so as to be a better leader or planning comm. Hope that through this experience, you will have not much problem planning up another event or activities. Also, not to forget that you will have to pass this knowledge down to the next batch of juniors running the camp. Frankly speaking, it is also through this camp, i then realise the mistake i have made previously.(As i am the camp chief of last year FO CAMP) Our main comm have a huge problem with the senior during the camp. Mainly because we have the thinking that senior are intercepting too much. As we believe its our camp, hence they should let us run the camp instead of them keep telling us what to do. But.. i shall admit that my camp wasnt what i have expected it to be. There wasn't much joy running it too. Me as a campchief should know what was going on, but sadly.. that wasn't the case. Cried almost every day of the camp. Having all the pressure kept in me. blah blah blahh.. Last sunday, when i saw the ceremony of their camp closure, then i know that they are super bonded. Witnessing GLs and camp comm people crying etc.. All of them went up to hug Glenn(current camp chief). That was like freaking touching can. I was flashing back to my time, whereby i doesnt have that kind of treatment. It seems as though i had not do much. As once i declare camp closure, majority of them went off. No Debrief etc. Nothing. It was as if i had failed my duty as a camp chief. Was rather regret to have taken up the post. Well well..Now i know, i shall not be influence by others to take up a post which i am not capable of. So as of now, they are choosing the next president. If they are voting for me, i shall stand by my choice and declare a NO for accepting the crazily big post. no way.. Oh and i must say, im really happy for this year camp to be quite a success. Cause i wouldn't want it to repeat what my camp had gone through last year. This success wasn't all by the camp comm itself though, we as a seniors play a large part too ! If not, you can see a few of the activities getting screw up. Some eg: NIGHTWALK!! <-- wahh.. you guys expecting seniors to do all of it ar. Was quite shock to know that on the day of the nightwalk, NO ONE from the comm knows what to do for the nightwalk!!! Take the lightstick for examples. You all very HENG got us there. If not see how your nightwalk will become. Also, during the water games day. If we never help you ask about the pool, i think you guys have already start cancelling the event and replace it with another mass game zzz. Okay i shall not say furthur. Just hope that you guys appreciate what we have done and acknowledge it. One last thing.. CONGRATULATIONS to the success of your CAMP ! =) GOOD JOB PEOPLE! WELL DONEE!! No hard feelings for whatever have happen during the camp yar! Let's look forward to bringing more people into our club as a permanent members!
